Examining Ahmad’s operationalisation of core Islamic tenets—Tawhid (divine unity), Adl (justice), Khilafah (trusteeship), and prohibition of Riba (interest)—the paper demonstrates how his theoretical framework transcended critique of capitalist/socialist systems to establish a morally grounded alternative. It critically evaluates his dual institutional legacy: founding the Islamic Foundation (Leicester) as a global hub for knowledge dissemination and translational research, and leading the Institute of Policy Studies (Islamabad) to develop policy architectures for Islamic banking, Zakat systems, and ethical market regulation. Empirical investigations reveal both achievements and implementation challenges. While Ahmad’s advocacy catalysed Pakistan’s pioneering interest-free banking reforms and institutionalised Zakat, structural weaknesses—bureaucratic inefficiencies, governance gaps, and sociopolitical barriers—limited their poverty-alleviation impact. Cross-national comparisons with Malaysia’s waqf-based social finance and Indonesia’s integrated Zakat systems further contextualise these outcomes. The $2.4 trillion Islamic finance industry stands as partial validation of his vision. Yet, widespread reliance on debt-like instruments (Murabaha) rather than profit-sharing models (Mudarabah/Musharakah) highlights persistent theory-practice divergences. The paper argues that Ahmad’s enduring contribution lies in institutionalising Islamic Economics through three pillars: 1) Scholarly systematisation of classical principles into modern policy alternatives, 2) Transnational knowledge networks enabling global disciplinary growth, and 3) Pragmatic policy experimentation. It concludes that realising his vision requires adaptive governance structures, participatory welfare delivery, and technological innovation to overcome implementation barriers—a crucial agenda for contemporary Islamic economies facing inequality and ethical finance challenges. Firms that lack these partnerships tend to have internal inefficiencies and a weak competitive position in the market evidenced by supply delays, high operating costs and poor-quality outcomes. The study was informed by Resource-Based View, Dynamic Capabilities Theory and Systems Theory. The target population was 269 individuals and stratified random sampling was used to select a sample size of 155 respondents identified in the target population across the top management, academic leadership and six (6) departments. The study used structured questionnaires to gather primary quantitative data from the respondents. Validity of the questionnaire and reliability was tested through expert judgment Cronbach Alpha Coefficient. For pretesting, the questionnaire was administered to 114 individuals at TUK who were part of the target population but not part of the sample size. Data analysis which included descriptive and inferential statistical methods was applied to the quantitative data. The descriptive statistics which included percentages and frequencies, were computed using SPSS. Karl Pearson’s Correlation analysis was used to identify and measure the strength of relationships between variables. The study findings were presented in tables, which highlighted frequencies and percentages. The study established a positive and significant effect of strategic partnerships on the supply chain performance. The level and intensity of strategic planning are influenced by various managerial, organizational, and environmental factors, and can differ significantly across organizations. This article primarily aims to investigate the impact of strategic planning on organizational performance. The study focuses on the services sector in Bahrain and employs both qualitative and quantitative methods, including interviews and surveys with managers and other members of strategic planning teams from small businesses. The results indicate that environmental scanning and resource availability have an insignificant impact on organizational success. In contrast, strategy formulation, implementation, and evaluation demonstrate a significant and strong correlation with organizational success and performance within Bahrain’s service sector. This study makes a valuable practical contribution by providing empirical insights through a detailed case study from Bahrain—particularly relevant given the dominance of small businesses in the country's services sector. The findings can inform not only small business owners and managers but also future researchers, policy makers, and business partners aiming to understand and enhance the effectiveness of strategic planning. Ultimately, the study supports the development of a more sustainable and resilient business environment in Bahrain. 2025-09-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) https://www.ejbti.com/index.php/1/article/view/222 ada ada 2025-07-08T00:23:30+00:00 cicak403 cicak403 akerja437@gmail.com ada Copyright (c) https://www.ejbti.com/index.php/1/article/view/221 The Reality of Digital Transformation for Small and Medium Enterprises: Achievements & Challenges (The Case of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan) 2025-07-10T07:26:08+00:00 rania satel raniaadnan_74@hotmail.com . Digital transformation has become an urgent necessity for enterprises in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to keep pace with economic and competitive challenges, improve operational efficiency, and expand access to new markets. This study aims to highlight the readiness and importance of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) transitioning toward a digital economy. To achieve the study's objectives, a descriptive-analytical methodology was employed, focusing on examining and describing the achievements and challenges by analyzing the current digital landscape for those enterprises. Data was collected through a questionnaire, with 350 responses obtained out of 363 distributed electronically to a sample consisting of managers of SMEs, resulting in a response rate of 96%. The study found that SMEs in Jordan are active in digital transformation despite facing financial and technical challenges, the most prominent of which was the lack of allocated financial resources necessary to cover the costs of the transformation. Among the most notable achievements were increased sales and exports for enterprises pursuing digital transformation. The study recommended several key measures, most importantly intensifying governmental and private sector support for these enterprises to help them catch up with larger digital enterprises in the Kingdom, as well as enhancing their employees' digital skills through workshops and training programs.
